Birmingham University Dance Society

We offer dance classes at a range of levels across a variety of styles to suit anybody who loves to dance. You are free to attend as many classes as you like, ranging from beginner to advanced, in many different dance styles, including Ballet, Jazz, Street Jazz, Modern, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Commercial, Zumba, Tap, Irish, Musical Theatre, Dance Aerobics and many more.

To join the society, we ask for a £7 membership fee, which adds you to the mailing list, where you will be informed about regular socials and charity work that we organise, as well as offering you a discount price for each class. Classes cost £2 for members and £3 for non-members throughout the academic year. You can become a member by signing up through the online membership link. Visit us at the Freshers Fairs and Sports Fair to ask us any questions - see our Important Dates page for more details. Classes are held at the Guild of Students. Check out our Class Schedule to see details about rooms.

In the 2nd semester we put on our annual show, which every member has the opportunity to participate in. The teacher from each class choreographs a dance routine around a certain theme. It sells out every year and everybody involved loves being a part of it! Check out the Photo Gallery to see photos from previous shows.

The society also has a Dance Squad, which competes with other squads from different universities, as well as performing at various sport events and club nights. Anybody can audition to be a member of the squad - auditions are held at the start of the 1st semester.
